Sustainability

We too have given a lot of thought to how we can make the Kaserer more ecological and environmentally friendly. Especially with an older house like ours, this is not so easy to implement.

The first step was taken some time ago. We had a combined heat and power unit installed and put it into operation. With this we are able to generate the necessary heat for water and heating. It also generates part of our electricity. We feed surplus energy into the power grid.

The next step was taken in 2021, when we had a photovoltaic system installed on our roof by the provider sonnen.de. A storage system is also installed so that we can use the stored electricity in the evening and night hours. Further surplus energy is fed into the power grid. For the times of day when no or not enough electricity can be produced via the photovoltaic system (rainy days, winter months), we have concluded a contract with a provider for natural electricity at the beginning of 2022.

For guests with an electric vehicle and/or plug-in hybrid vehicle, we plan to install a wallbox. We will announce the details in due course.

With these steps into a "green time" we have taken a step towards climate neutrality.
